Louis Moinet has been forgotten in the course of time. Jean-Marie Schaller undertakes to revive his life and works, based on a meagre biography dating from 1853.

The very first model is a chronograph, named Olympia

Right from the first hand-crafted watch, the four hallmarks are engraved on the caseback, evoking the Louis Moinet values: unique history, creative horology, art & design, exclusivity

Founding of Les Ateliers Louis Moinet, an independent watch company.

It soon settles into its historical premises in Saint-Blaise, near Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

Numerous partnerships are undertaken with some of the greatest independent contemporary artists.

The Geograph Rainforest wins the Best of the Best Red Dot Design Award

On May 14th 2012, at Christie’s Geneva, Jean-Marie Schaller wins the bidding for the “Compteur de Tierces” by Louis Moinet, for the sum of CHF 50,000.

This creation by Louis Moinet had been entirely forgotten over time.

On March 21st 2013, a press conference is held at Neuchâtel Observatory.

The announcement is made that Louis Moinet is officially recognised as the inventor of the chronograph, thanks to his “Compteur de Tierces”

Les Ateliers Louis Moinet are awarded the Merit Prize for the Development of the Watchmaking Arts and Technologies by the IIPP, at the headquarters of UNESCO, in Paris

Vertalor wins the Gold Medal as the best tourbillon in the International Chronometry Competition
